Candace Parker was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1986, she is an American basketball star for Chicago Sky of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was one of the selected players as the first overall pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks.

Candace went to Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois, where she led her high school basketball team to Class AA state titles in 2003 as well as 2004. WNBA career

In the 2008 WNBA Draft, Candace was selected as the first pick by the Los Angeles Sparks on 9 April 2008. In her debut game over the Phoenix Mercury on 17 May 2008, she had 34 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. She broke a record for a rookie with 34 points in a debut game. The record was previously held by Cynthia Coope with 25 points in her debut game in 1997. The record still stands up today.
