About Candace Parker.
Candace Parker was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1986, she is an American basketball star for Chicago Sky of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was one of the selected players as the first overall pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks.
Candace has been an analyst and commentator for Turner Sports since 2018, where she used to cover NBA games on TNT as well as NBA TV and also for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Candace Parker is the daughter of Sara and Larry Packer, she was on 19 April 1986 in St. Louis, Missouri. She has two older brothers: the former NBA basketball player Anthony Packer and Doctor Marcus Parker.

Candace went to Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois, where she led her high school basketball team to Class AA state titles in 2003 as well as 2004. She compiled a school record of 2,768 points (22.9 points per game) and 1,592 rebounds (13.2 rebounds per game) while starting 119 of the 121 games that she played.
Candace is the only two-time award winner of the USA Today High School Player of the Year. Candace was named the Hann-G ‘Go Beyond ‘ Rookie of the Month for the Month of May and July 2008. She scored a career-high 40 points, along with 16 rebounds and 6 assists in an 82-74 overtime win over the Houston Comments. She was also among the players who were suspended in the Sparks-Shock brawl on 21 July 2008.
Candace became the first WNBA player to win both the Rookie of the Year as well as the Most Valuable Player awards in the same season on 3 October 2008. She joined Wilt professional American Wes Unseld as the only player professional American basketball player to win both ROY and MVP trophies.
Candace missed the first eight games of the 2009 WNBA season after giving birth to her daughter, Lailaa Nicole Williams. On 5 July 2009, she played her first game back from maternity leave. In 2012, Candace re-signed with the Sparks to a multi-year deal once her rookie contract expired. She played the full season where she helped her team to a 24-10 record. In the Western Conference Final over the Minnesota Lynx, her team lost two games to none while scoring 33 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and 33 points.
On 27 July 2013, Candace played in her first All-Star game, where she scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a come from behind win for the West and was named WNBA All-Star MVP. on September 19, she was named the 2013 WNBA Most Valuable Player, and became the fifth player to earn multiple WNBA MVP award and joined Lisa Leslie, Sheryl Swoopes, Lauren Jackson as well as Cynthia Cooper.
Candace was re-signed with the Sparks as an unrestricted free agent in 2016. In the 2017 WNBA Finals, Candace set the record for most steals in a Final game with 5 steals along with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists as well as 3 blocks in a 75-64 win. On 10 July 2018, Candace managed to make history with a stat line of 21 points, 10 assists, 9 rebounds, 4 steals as well as 2 blocks in a 77-75 overtime victory over the Seattle Storm and making her the first player in WNBA history to achieve such a stat line.
